Well done Ken!
Not being an avid Daily Mail reader I missed this. On Thursday Ken Boston the head of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) called for the scrapping of all Key Stage Tests and for good measure the league tables as well. As a method of assessment tests would be carried out on a sample 3% of children.
This is significant because the QCA is one of the important education quangoes. Ken Boston has also made a specific demand - end Key Stage testing.
This is far better than Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green's measly, 'tests are nasty'.
